Hopkins - SU Saturdays Preview

Posted Friday, March 17, 2006 by John Desko

Well the day is upon us that we all love to see! We are playing our arch rival The Johns Hopkins Bluejays Saturday at 1pm. The game will be on radio as well as ESPNU.

Now we are down 3 of our Top Middies and we need to dig deep this weekend to beat the #13 team in the country. Trust me Hopkins will be fine this season, they are young but they have the guns to make a run at another Nat'l Title in 2006. They are big, physical, and have big game experience. Plus the game is in Baltimore where traditionally we have been playing 13 on 10 for many years thanks to the Southern officials.

Hopkins is 2-2 with wins over Albany and UMBC and losses to Princeton and Hofstra. They are led by a few returning all-american's. Attackmen Kevin Huntley is there leading scorer and a pre-season pick for a 3rd team AA honor. He is followed in the stats by 2005 Honorable AA Jake Byrne. There next 2 scorers are 2005 All-Americans as well, Paul Rabil (3rd Team) and Greg Peyser (HM). This game will be a battle for respect because of the slow start of both teams. We need this win! We need it badly! We do not want to drop in the rankings anymore.

I think and know we can do it. So tune in and watch the game!!!

Go Cuse!!!!
