SU vs. Albany Summary

Posted Monday, April 25, 2005 by John Desko
Alum's,

I got home just in time to shoot from the airport to the dome to check out this game. And what a good one it turned out being. We won 14-13 in a tight game. Now you might be saying 'Who the heck is Albany'? Well they are the #13th ranked team in the US last week. And Albany is a bubble team that needed a win or a close game to help them try and earn a bid into the NCAA's. And they came out to play. But, we did what we needed to do to get the W. I thought we played just fine. We missed a lot of open shots that week will need to sink this weekend against UMASS.

Here is the box score of the game:

If you have not seen many games lately, The Orange's returning All-American Attackman, Brian Crockett, has been playing more midfield than attack as of late and the move is paying off! His scoring output has gone up. He netted six (6) goals this past weekend and it is hard to stop our offense with just 4 long poles on defense. Sooner or later someone is going to get a mismatch of defense with this move and when this has been happening we have capitalized.

This weekend will be the final test; we need this win to make the play-offs
