UMass vs. The Cuse at UMass

Posted Friday, April 29, 2005 by John Desko

Alright this is the regular season final and by no means will it be the last game of the season! Our #7 Orange take on #8 UMass at UMass?s Garber Field otherwise known as ?The Pit? for its location on the UMass Campus at 1pm. We need to win this game. UMass is good and will be all fired up to play us.

UMass is a quality team with wins over Hobart, Brown, and a huge win over Georgetown. They lost to Albany by 1 goal. This game will be quality. It is not on TV, but will be web-casted on suathletics.com. You can listen to it on the local Central NY radio stations. So either tune in or get in the car and head to UMass for the game.

This season has been a season like no other that we have been through as alumni, but there is no dominate team in D-1 this season. I mean sure Hop is #1 and they have beaten everyone, but they have had some scary games. I know that if we see them again we can beat them. The Playoff picture will be set Sunday night when the seedings come out. The first 8 seeded teams will get a by for the 1st round and then play a home game in the second round from what I was told by SU Assistant Coach Sean Lindsay. So we will get a chance to head to the dome for another game. If we are the number 7 seed we will see either UMass again, Army again, or Maryland. These teams are from what I can see going to be the #8, 9, and 10 seeds. That is who we should be playing if we are ranked in the 8, 7, or 6 spot. I think we should get the 6 seed because of the strength of schedule, but hey, what do I know.

Well, I have to sign off, and get going; I have a 10:30am tee-time I cannot miss??

Go Cuse,

Head-Heart-Hustle,
